At the Lake House the view from the deck would be perfect except for this darned Sugar Maple.

How many chopping implements does it take to remove one Sugar Maple? Well, if you want to have fun it takes all of these.

Let the AK have the high cut.

A little bit of a 'hot spot' on my little finger but with two hand and one hand grips with each hand it made it through.

Warm up the NMFBM LE by cutting the top up into 2'-3' pieces and get them out into the clearing. I did all of the limbing with the Rat Daddy, that was a breeze!

NMFBM LE gets started on the standing trunk.

Wish I had another tree to take out. This NMFBM LE is definitely the best chopping blade I've used out of the Busse Shop.

Take the stump down closer to the ground with the hatchet. This one had just had a touch-up after letting my son chop down a holly bush and apparently some gravel too.

Now I have a perfect view of the lake! Until the next one sprouts up in my way.

Wow--truly beautiful view! A great reward for the fun of chopping down that tree! ;) Looks like a great place for a scotch and a cigar, my friend!

Great pictures!

You must have been milliseconds faster than me since I ended up with NMFBMLE #15. :D

No boats on the lake? Perfect for fishing!

Lake Wateree is a 13,250 acres lake with 240 miles of shoreline, over 20 miles long. The island in front is Lake Wateree State Park, SC, 238 acres. The end of the island you see is the larger end and shall remain undeveloped. The higher ground on the other end has a marina/store and landing. There are 72 paved campsites, with water and power for RVs, only 15 are waterfront. 35 miles from Columbia, SC and 75 miles from Charlotte, NC. Plenty of Crappie, Bream and Bass and of course the darned Catfish. Lots, and I mean lots, of deer and a few shy turkeys. The lake is a haven for all types of birds, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Ducks, Geese, Great Blue Heron. You can see all of these in one day sitting on that deck.

I swapped out the 'After' pic for one I took today. A lazy lake, there were a few pontoons and fishermen out but you can spend a while looking across the lake and not see a boat.

Ian, it snows in central SC about once every 5 years and the snow lasts about 2 days!

The Rat Daddy did it's work so fast I barely got a picture of it, maybe later.

Good work, Moffat. What was that tree thinking, tryna get away with ruining a damned fine view like that. :D;)
