Started by Blues, a former SUPERMOD, and participated in by almost everyone in the world. It would be in the dictionary for "Thread Veer," but there would be too many pages required.:)

Read, bookmark, and traverse the inner workings of many minds. Enjoy:

Many folks have come and gone, yet the quality of the H.I. khuks, and the supporting cast members have continued the "Broadway Run" of quality, service, and courtesy. Kind of neat.

Be well and safe.

Ah, yes: June 20. Hence the tribute today. March 12. You OK, Kis? Or did Bert finally latch onto something important?

Naw, just struck me that change is part of growth, and growth is part of evolving. A few folks may not have seen the width and depth of the characters who have visited here and then moved to other stops in their respective lives.

If anything shows that, it's the Phantom Thread.

Oh, all right. If you're going to be SERIOUS about this, I'll read it. All 87 pages. Wonder how many people I'll recognize.

And I really will read it. Been curious for a long time.

Welcome back, K.

Ardvaark?

You will be delighted, bored, curious, and confounded by the meanderings of the thread. But the melting pot of H.I. will never be more evident.

Howsa family, Tom?

Didn't you push the K31 as the best mil-surp rifle? I kept on encouraging a friend with a Curio and Relic permit to get one. He did.

Now, he's scouring the world for more ammo. He loves it. (Of course, he's turned into a Mil-surp Junkie, is now on his 50+ rifle and second gun safe, so maybe his judgement is in question.)

Be well and safe.

So good to see you, Kis:) The PHANTOM is indeed a thread for internet history. I think it took me 5 days to get through the whole dang thing. It should be required reading for anyone looking to frequent the Cantina...well not required, but you know, suggested;):)

There will be a quiz.... :)

I plowed through it a couple years ago. It's a shame a lot of photo links are no longer working, but it is pretty neat to see how many are still among us.

The "Tall Tales Thread" and the "Last Stand, Khuk In Hand" are among my favorites. (I'd post a link but the firewall is preventing the search function).

Kismet, family is good, last month or so has been smoother sailing.

Guilty on the K31. Glad your friend likes it!

Tom

That was before my time here but there's one Jerribear started, "the Imitation Horn thread" over on the Talkblade forum that has gone on for years! They even did an Imitation Horn Thread commemorative knife:D

Somebody say something about bears? Quackipus, is that you? :D

I think this was the original epic Bladeforums thread. The Busse Combat forum has since taken up the torch with "Death Chats" but those are more real-time chats than the Phantom.

I know it used to drive Sparks just INSANE. You could almost hear the muttering of curses everytime his server or host site went down. With great restraint, he once referred to the stuff on H.I. forum as "chit-chat." :)

The marvelous meanderings of many minds created a legend.

At the time, the Phantom thread was the longest running, most looked at and posted in Thread in the history of Bladeforums. It probably still holds a few reconds. A very funny read for those that take the time. :D

The bestest thread ever! :D:D:D

I agree... I wish the photos were still there. It gave so much more meaning :).

Sure wish all those old-timers were still with us.

I'm only on page 4 and I'm already grinning like a fool :D
I recall another more recent thread that went more or less thus: what 5 things would you take to cross the desert and fight zombies, if you were limited to what is in your immediate reach right now? I hadn't registered yet then and could only lurk, but reading the replies was a hoot!

Ah Yes, the Good Ol' Phantom Thread!!!! :D
Really glad you brought it back to notice Kis as it really shows the best of HI.
IMO the only thread that was funnier was the original, "Billy Tran" threads with his lawnmower blades and spankin the mankey. :p :D
It was really too bad he had to cross over the line as he captured almost everyone's attention at some time or another.:)
