I finished this for a customer out in Arizona. I have named this one the piccaso snake. He specified what exactly he wanted done, a rear and front bolster removed and a snake fileworked into the lock bar and blade with his head near the clip and a rattle at the end. He sent the Koa too, I really like this wood. I'm not sure if I like this one or not.

The pictures don't show things very well. In case you are wondering it's a 3 dot vintage flat bolster 110

Nice work!

I'm not sure I like the bolster removal lopsided design though. But hey, it's what he wanted. I think it would have looked cool if they were taken off one end entirely.

Thanks for the pics. I'm pretty new to the Buck stuff but enjoy it a lot. American and a classic.

Reminds me. Can you put a hole in the rear bolster for a lanyard? That is a mod that I think could be useful.

Thanks! I'm not sure I like it either. I have taken the bolsters off the rear entirely (both sides) on both a 110 and 112. I'm working on devising lanyard hole placement, the lock design kinda prohibits that, but I'm trying to find a way around it. Here are some "barehead" bucks, the 110 went to the same guy as this piccaso one (along with a couple other 110s I did, a buffalo horn handled one, an elk stag one with filework and a couple slipjoint folders), and the 112 is still for sale. In case you are wondering. I modified the shape of the blade on both of the below knives, the 112 is a drop point the 110 is a slender modified clip, the 110 was fileworked the 112 is not. The 110 is bookmatched desert ironwood the 112 is red mulberry root.

Thanks for the links, I never realized koa was such a large tree. I'd sure like to see that large ironwood tree, ironwoods that large are rare.

great work Muskrat man...

I really like wood scales. That Koa wood is growing on me.
Thanks for sharing.

Muskrat Man, do you have a website or price list for services that you offer? I think that the lopsided idea is kinda cool, but I'm more interested in filework... and maybe some stag. Thanks!!!

Musk Man,

That's truly awesome work....where's mine????

I've already been badgered over posting a link to my website on BFC and am about tired of it, if any of you would like a link to my webpage, please feel free to email me. As for all of your wonderful comments, thank you!
