Are you getting more disappointed? Ebay is turning out to be better than most of the others. I have yet to see anything on knifeauctions.net that I like and can afford. It is also filling up with production knives for sale above online prices. Bladeauctions.com had a number of good looking customs but is mainly a spot for "automatica" and much of that none too good. bladeforums and k*i*e*o*u*s.com all tried auctions and there are a handful of others. The big auction houses do have good stuff but I am never successful... (I know, not their fault!) Long and short is that the quality dealers (examples only, don't shout me for leaving people out) like knifeart, azck, robertson, 000design, etc are great spots for full retail (or of course going straight to the maker and waiting!) and the only place to get a great deal is right here in bf's custom knives for sale...

I'd liek to hear your comments

Most of the auctions site (except Ebay) appear to be set-up as retail venues.

The "reserve" prices are invariably set almost the same prices as "full retail" are what a maker would charge. I have spent quite a bit of time and made a fair number of bids on most of the sites mentioned and found that that there are no deals to be found. It seems odd as much of what is auctioned is pre-owned and of no intrinsic collection value above what the maker would currently charge.

In most cases, you are better off going to the maker if you can stand the wait.

Fracmeister, I agree with forums having the best deal on custom knives along with Ebay. I ahve bought several things from a few different forums as well as Ebay, but, the other auction places really never seem to have what I am loking for.
