Finished it last night.A friend brought me a planer blade he had profiled into a bowie,my task was to complete it.
I have no way of annealing D2 so I had to work it fully hardened-WHEW!
The biggest challenge was drilling the tang for the handle pins,it laughed at a cobalt bit.I knew I needed a carbide bit but none were available in town, however I did find a carbide tipped bit,for $5-it wasnt a masonry bit but rather a standard HS steel bit with a carbide tip,I had doubts but bought it anyway,to my dismay the thing worked.
The handle is imistag, and I`ll be making a leather sheath for it tonight.
overall,I`m quite pleased,
Scott
