Just added a large 21 to my CRK family. Found the last UN Idaho Made stamped one at an internet dealer and snapped it up. It is just beautifully made as usual with one "possible" exception. I've contacted CRK and they, of course, will be happy to inspect it and rectify any problems, but I want to pick all your brains first.
I've tried but cannot get a good clear photo of this sorry to say.
The point grind is incredibly thin. The perfectly even distal taper disappears about a 1/4" back of the point and blade thickness continues very thin to the point, barely wider than the edge grind thickness.
Looks great for delicate work but somewhat fragile. The points on my 2 old regulars and older 21 are much more robust. The point on my SMALL 21 is much thicker tapered to the point.
Intrestingly the point thickneses on my large and small Insingos are quite thin also.
Will probably be sending it back for an evaluation by the CRK crew, but interested if any of you have seen tis on any of your Sebis.
Stay sharp,
cutterman
