I found a thread on here (and a couple Youtube videos) showing how you can stonewash a knife with a few simple things.
I bought a 32 oz bag of polished rocks from the dollar store (Dollar Tree) for a buck. I then filled an empty PB jar about half way with the rocks, stuck the blade of the knife inside along with a generous amount of WD-40. I closed up the jar, bundled it in a towel and tied the towel down, and threw it in the dryer (no heat) for around one and a half hours. The results are linked below.

Here are some pictures of the process. The blade was hard to get really good pics of, but I think they're a bit better than the other ones up. If anyone wants more just let me know. The only problem now is that this knife is basically useless :(. I need to spend a good long time on the blade and serrations, as well as buy some Loctite for the screw that holds the blade in, as the blade literally unscrews itself and falls off of the handle after opening it about twelve times

Anyways.. here's a link to the pics that I uploaded to Facebook.

This knife was an $8 gas station purchase, but I thought the axis-lock wannabe looked interesting enough to give it a try. It's decently sturdy and holds a good edge. The biggest problem is the screw that's completely useless :barf:

i think that looks awesome!. maybe next time put some tape around the hole where it screws into the handle so it stays "clean"?

turned out pretty nice, excellent experiment! good luck with wherever it goes
next time as was recommended plug the screw holes to protect them

I don't think tape would hold up too long on it, but that probably would have been a good idea as it seemed to open a bit gritty. I took the blade back off and smoothed it with some WD-40.

Today I sharpened it and put some super glue on the screw that was falling out and it works pretty smoothly now, as well as shaves pretty cleanly.

This knife shall be my EDC until I can get myself a Griptilian!
