Though this post is a nod to the Porch in general, this is also me taking the opportunity to thank yet another very deserving member here.

I have been supremely blessed since joining these forums. I can think of no other place on the internet that compares to the overall experience and just the pure great quality of people that congregate here. Because of this, other social media outlets that I used to be involved in are now largely neglected. And I can attest that my life is so much more wholesome as a result.

My knife collection is rather small, especially compared to those of many here. But it continues to grow as I continue to figure out what I like and such, and it also grows due to the generosity of the fine folks who pull up a chair here regularly.

As a result I think it high time I pay it forward in a sense. Stay tuned for details as I cook up a few ideas on that...

But back to the very deserving individual who I want to recognize in this post. Erik, otherwise known as SadSappySucker SadSappySucker , noticed I had expressed some interest in the #15 regular jack pattern and rather promptly offered to send me one he no longer was using.

Long story short, I received a package today that included this well loved, but gorgeous #15, in ebony, with a sheepfoot blade. Though a bit smaller than I had expected, this knife is an absolute delight. Slim, lightweight, perfect walk and talk, and beautiful pocket worn ebony. I'm really going to enjoy this knife...

Thank you, Erik, you made my day and you put an awesome cap on an otherwise trying week. Thank you to the Porch as well, you all are amazing folks and you never fail to brighten my day, regardless of how difficult it might be.

I'm glad you like it. Like I told you, Jack (mrknife) gave me that knife in a similar fashion about a year ago, and since it was getting neglected by me I felt it only right to move it on to someone who might appreciate it more.
And when I saw your two sheepsfoot(lambs foot?) knives that you carry often I knew you'd like it.

It's great that so many here can be such great friends to others on the internet. That particular Sheepsfoot blade is my absolute favorite shape/style. I don't have one yet, but someday ;) Thinking the Ale handled Beer Scout is a good one!

A wonderful gesture Erik! Good of you to favor one of our own with such a fine piece of cutlery. Congrats Dylan enjoy it in good health. -James
