The postman dropped off two packages today.

A late birthday present from my wife(mot her ffault! Shipping took forever) and an awesome Fiddleback from a member who heard my call and delivered with excellence.

Top - silky Gomboy Medium teeth

Bottom - EDK with sandblasted black micarta, black G10 and orange liners

The EDK is exactly how I imagined it would be, it is a perfect fir. I can get a good purchase on the handle (sandblasting makes a noticeable difference) and have great control over the tip.

This baby is going in my everyday bag.

Very cool! The edk has a very comfortable handle and a nice blade. I like to carry a silky too! Great pics!

Good golly I love Silky Saws. No reason to own a chainsaw. Total wood domination in a carryable blade replacable tool. I have a bunch of them.

Love the Karda also. Very functional pairing. Need a light batonnable one to complete the combo though. When I was a boy I carried a Kabar for this.

Thanks guys :)

The EDK has to be my favorite sub 3" fixed blade I have handled.

As for batoning I have few beastly non Fiddlebacks a Hunter and a Camp Knife that didn't make the shoot

Lookin forward to camping season!

Very cool combo. I love working with the EDK in carving, but I just don't deal well with actually edc-ing or fielding as a primary a knife where the handle is overwhelming longer than the bade...I know it's common, especially in Europe, it's just a personal issue with me. The Hiking Buddy works out much better as an only fixed blade, but I did really like pairing the EDK with a larger knife.

Few knives on the market bug me as much as the Ka-Bar. The proprietary 1095CroVan steel is actually pretty awesome, Paul Tsujimoto knows his stuff with heat treating large batches... I just wish they would improve the tang design and remove the stress risers on a knife that issued to our soldiers...
