Darn! Postman left a notice in our mailbox that I had an insured package waiting at the P.O. The notice says he "rang the bell and nobody answered". My sweet a** he did - my wife was watching out the front window and saw him drive by. He never moved his lazy keister out of his jeep ;) I just know he had my 16.5" WWII in there, and now I have to wait until Monday for it! Arrrgh! HIKV symptoms! No relief today...

This is the second time this sort of thing has happened. I think I should budget some time for a discussion with the Postmaster tomorrow when I go to pick it up :)
in your dealings with the mailman...If you alienate them, you could wind up with all your mail being delivered to an abandoned 'phone booth in Schenectady, the "farthest reaches" on our planet... I infected my mailman with HIKV. Now, all my long packages are brought to the door, and we both get to open them...sometimes I even let him hold them...for a second or two :D The only drawback is keeping a mop handy, 'cause drool-slick doorsteps can raise your homeowner's rates.

I'll second what Walosi said. It's like pissing off restaurant help. You really don't want to eat what they put in from of you AFTER you do that!

Hank:cool:

It's time to update the classic, "The Postman Always Rings Twice" to "The Postman Never Rings."

A sign of the times.

No Noo Noooo...

You gotta chase em down and tackle them before they get away...

That way they will ring a couple of times just to make sure the coast is clear before they turn their back on you.

It also helps to keep your car keys handy in case you have to cut him off to pull him off the road. :)

Welcome to the forums.

This has happend to me also! I'v seen him/her drive right by and I go out and check the mail box and there is a little card that says I tried to deliver but no one was home! So I have ran down the street and have tried to catch up with them but not yet!!! One day I'll get em'!! Tomorrow they should be bringing me my special order, we'll see!!!!

Well, I was able to get to the post office during lunch and pick this up. Very nice! Smuggled it into work to show my knife/tool loving friends. Reactions varied from "Cool!" (friend who does wood carving and generally appreciates handmade things) to a shrug (friend who's really into "high tech" knives and tools). Oh well, I guess there's no accounting for taste ;)

Now, I gotta think up or find a nice wooden rack to display this on...
Congrats on the new Blade!!:)

I have had similiar troubles with my mailwoman/mailcarrier. She's nice as can be, but some days she just doesn't feel like driving down my newly paved driveway with ample turn around space. Maybe its the German Shepperd that likes to say hi by barking and spitting foam on the windows?  Who knows?:D

We'll see if the Kobra makes it here....

I'm a window clerk in a post office with 50 routes and I have to hear complaints about carriers who won't take the extra time to get out of their vehicles to attempt delivery. The rural carriers get paid the same amount per day whether they are on the road 4 hours or 6 hours so I get the most complaints about them. The next time you wait in line for 30 minutes at the post office have pity on the poor window clerk, we get reamed out for all the mistakes that the carriers make. :(

Oh no...I'd never take it out on a window clerk (unless they were the source of the problem). I've worked too many customer service jobs in the past and know how it feels to be "vented upon" ;)

Had a bit of melodrama in the P.O. yesterday when the window clerk left for over 10 min. to look for my package and came back empty handed. I (politely) asked to speak to the supervisor, who went and looked himself. He found it - mostly because he was a 6 1/2 ft tall man and the clerk was a barely 5 ft tall woman :D (it was up on a high shelf) Also spoke to the supervisor about the carrier not getting out of his jeep to ring my doorbell last Saturday and it turns out he was a temp. worker and not my regular carrier - who seems like a good guy.
