There used to be a theory bandied about that something that is negatively charged will rust quicker . This was especially true in the automotive industry . The theory being that the car body was part of the negative side of the circuti .
Does this position still hold water ? Can it be imposed upon metal objects other than cars ?

Don't know really.

I sent your sheath today.

Thats great . I almost finished the sheath we talked about . Sarges suggestion about a sheath for a kitchen blade and what we discussed led me to it .

Arrow making must still remain a priority .

I don't think that this theory has any basis in fact. Unless there is a connection to the opposite polarity, it shouldn't matter if something is connected to the positive or negative side of a power source.

In the case of electrolysis, it is the positive electrode that forms rust, and if there is any rust on the negative, it is removed. People sometimes use this to remove rust off of car parts, or apply it to parts that need an antique or weathered finish.

The entire metal plating industry rests upon the concept of anode vs. cathode, with charged particles adhering to a variety of metals, both ferrous and nonferrous.

There is a connection between positive and negative on a car when it is in operation . Though the connection is through a load upon the circuits there is electron flow . If not things would not work .

Please excuse me if I speak of this in rudimentaryt terms . Its the way I understand it . Your statement that rust could be removed from car parts could be an indication that car parts could be made to become rusty . I am not trying to say it is through a direct reversal of procedure .
