Hands down, I like scoutknifes.

Vintage knifes in Sweden is scarce. In my northern parts ther is no tradition in folders so they dont appear in fleamarkets.

With a lot of trubble I managed to get a Case scout jr last year. Terific knife but a thad small. It made me want more.

I looked at AGR premium scout, but AG dont ship to Sweden.

I also looked at the Boker 182R scout knife. An European scout. Only source I found is again AG that dont ship to Europe. Tuff situation that a European Knife has its only sourse in the states on the other side of the world.

It is difficult to be AG Russell-deprived.

I have lived in the US for long periods, and AG Russell is exactly what you wish for in a company. Honest, really great service, terrific catalog---everything right.

Of course, there are many good reasons that they do not deal with overseas shipping; it is completely understandable. That does not change the fact that my world would be a little brighter if, every so often, I got the catalog in the mail, and could pick up the phone and place an order.

The solution is to have a friend or relative in the US accept the deliveries, etc. It's not the same, but it's better than nothing.

If you want to drop me a line, I do not mind shipping knives to non-US forum members when they have no way to obtain what they want. Won't charge ya anything extra, but also will not misrepresent the item on custom forms. :D.

Bosse,

Heinnie Haynes sells Böker knives. You might want to give them a look (on page 8 :)) I have not bought any from them but Hennie has received good reviews on British Blades.

NB, I have the Russell Premium Scout, and with it's 154CM main blade it's fantastic, not to mention that Camillus is now out of business so there won't be any others. Did you contact AG personally? You might let him know you're an active forum contributor and he might be able to do something for you. I'm not trying to speak for him or anything, it's just that sometimes it's different speaking to the owner rather than an employee.

I regret that there are no more Premium Scouts in stock.

Sorry about doing wrong, I had to searach 4 threads to find this.

Absinthuer has a bunch of these. Perhaps he'll be around shortly.

thanks for your answers.

First I want to make klear that this was no complaint towards AG Russel. Not what so ever. I only asked the question about shiping to Sweden and got an answer. It was just by E-mail and I dont know who answered it. Its the kind of answer its easyest to be satisfied with. However his got the nicest page to look at knifes at sometimes unike knifes from his own line like the premium Scout. So the lust to bye from the company apear from time to time.

My complaint was about the difikulty to bye an european knife in europe.

Very nice answers from you all and I will follow some tips.

The next week Im in the wilderness in my cottage without a computor but Im back to look into this next monday.

Have a nice week my unknown friends.

schatt and morgan makes a nice scout knife. I don't know about shipping overseas... I get mine at www.schattandmorgan.com
you may have to send an email to see if there are scouts still available

When getting fixed blades from the US I often have them put "knife, fixed blade" and that is fine for Canada, but some put "cutlery" which could be anything from a kitchen knife to a set of forks and spoons.

Bulldog does make the Boker Pattern Scout/Camp knife, I just wish they offered it with a bail on it for a lanyard. By Boker pattern I am reffering to the pregnant look the have, almost a gunstock pattern in shape.

These are available for about $40 US online. And as said having a SAK rescaled isn't that expensive.

Thanks for your input.
Sorry about bringing this old thread back but I have been in the montaains for the last week and want to give some response at your answers.

First I want to put out that I love the quality and fuktion in a SAK and I have rescaled them myself bouth with wood and green canvas micarta. I have some thoughts about using moose stag also as I have steady supply of that.

But as being a knifenut I think that the "taste" of a weeldone traditional scout is another. My case scout jr is no better than a standard SAK, probobly not almost even up to pair, but its individual and more than good enough. This is why I look at AG, S&M and Boker for ex.
The answer given by AG was nice and I want to point out again that I have no complaint what so ever about this gentleman or his company. If it seemed that way its just my lacking skills in english that made it look wrong.

I will continue my hunt for a premium scout knife or two to have together with the teriffic SAKs.
