Vikash is back. One night in Las Vegas was enough -- too many dancing girls, I guess. Anyway, he decided to take a guide with him just in case. The guide, 50 year old fellow with nothing better to do than take a ride to Vegas, got drunk and slept most of the way -- waking only to answer "which way" questions. But they made it without major mishap and Vikash is packing khukuris again right now -- look out Siberia.

I'm glad to hear that Vikash made it home safely. Now if you could just get Vikash to tell about all of his adventures in just one night.:D

Uncle Bill, Please tell Vikash that LasVegas is nothing more than a neon CHARPE! You see the pretty lights first, then the smell hits you!!! As soon as I finish school here -color me GONE!

Paxton,
I just visit for the buffets and the gambling.
I've noticed that the only women who talk to me there drink wine. I kneeew I was ugly but never considered paying for friends. hawhawhaw!

I used to like Las Vegas a lot but today I avoid the place like the plague -- there is no comparison to Vegas of 40 years ago and today.

I told Vikash I thought a move there would be one that he would come to regret but we all have to make our own mistakes. I think he's sold on the higher pay so all we can do is wish him well and hope for the best.

Will you be putting a 'Help Wanted' sign in the window of the Cantina for the shipping staff position? (...might be all the nudge I need to leave this town ;))

Every time I made one of those joyful jumps across the fence to "greener pastures", I landed in a fresh cowpie. It isn't hard to double your salary, only to find out your expenses have tripled.

This is "culture shock", within your home country. We left our first GI dream home in Tulsa ($16,000) in '59. Found we couldn't afford (get a loan) in St. Louis, but about six months later saw the identical house in a suburb there for a mere $45,000.

Tell Vikash to look before he leaps, and wear hip boots, in case he needs to wade back.

I know kids that after college want to go to New York and Los Angeles to live and work, I think they are fricking crazy. You cant own a gun, you cant leave your home at night, and everything is 3-5x more expensive. A Coke from a vending machine is 1.50-2.00 in either place, and the cheap stuff at the gas pump is at least 2.00 if not more by now.

Give me some land with some trees, a tent, and my backpack full of my goodies and I'll be peachy keen. Mmmm, squirrel brains...hey look at the time...lunch!

Dave, you forgot Women.:p:D

I'm guessing about next August when Vikash can't drive home from work because the steering wheel is too hot and he forgot his gloves he'll be wondering why he left Reno.
