The working drawings.

Blade first this time, it is 5.5 inches made from 3/16ths 1084 not yet hardened. So far pretty true to the drawings.

More over the weekend

Ken

Got a little more done to day. Here is the guard still as a straight piece of steel. It still needs to be bent in a Bowie fashion. Its made from the same piece of steel as the blade so I think I will shape it then harden them both together. The pattern when its finished hopefully will look like tiger claws with sharp nails.

Blade has had it final polishing. I think I will put some claws on the piece in front of the guard. Handle is glued up tomorrow I will rough it out. Then the Butt plate and the always problematic nut to finish it off. Made a little assembly error its in the picture can you figure it out?

Handle is finished and the "paws" have been put on the spacer in front of the guard. Now the butt plate and the nut. I am thinking random facet pattern.

Butt plate is finished. It is threaded to the Allthread so it serves the same purpose as the nut. I think however I am going to make a skull crusher for the end. Silver solder 2 pieces of 3/8 ths 416 together then "carve" it to make the end pc.

Details details details......If you don't have the thick steel then we make it. Two pcs of 3/8 ths 416 stainless silver soldered together and then get rid of anything that does not look like the skull crusher/ glass breaker. About 3 hours into the glass breaker so far. Another day or two and the knife will be finished.

Finished Skull Crusher. All the parts are now finished. A final polish and put it together. Those pictures will go up a little later.

The finished Bowie styled Fighter.
11.75 inches overall
Blade 6 inches in front of the guard.
Skull Crusher is an inch long
Materials blade 1084 guard 1084 spacer in front of the guard is 154-CM Butt plate and skull crusher are ATS-34.
Handle is Iron wood, Red wood, Ebony, Redwood, Ironwood
File work on the guard is called Digit, the file work on the Butt plate and Crusher is Random Facet. (harder to do than it looks)

Thanks for looking, and comments are always welcome, Ken

That's awesome! I like the finished polished look it has, yet still means business with the skull/glass breaker and wicked blade, any plans for a sheath?

I do a lot of work in Kydex so I expect that i will at some point make a Kydex sheath for it. Lemonwoodgallery on ebay shows of my stock kydex sheaths but I do a ton of custom work. What I really need for this one is leather. Kydex makes noise when you draw the knife, it's the nature of the material and some times that is what you are after or it makes no difference. As a fighter I think that I would want something a lot quieter. The other knife in the thread, the Bowie has one made out of real Alligator. If I can get some more of it possibly I will use that. Suggestions?
Ken
