Hey Vance, do we know how Andy is going to "mark" these new production knives? I'm assuming it will be something different than "Fiddleback by A.R." Kind of like how Bob Dozier uses "Arkansas Made Dozier" for the custom knives and either "Dozier Design" or "Dozier Arkansas Knife" for the production stuff. Just curious.

I'll take it. Hahaha. Looks awesome. But I am also curious how they will b marked? Just fiddleback?

I believe Andy said they were going to mark them just "Fiddleback".

That looks pretty different I must say, not bad though & I like the steel choice.

Will these come with both a convexed- and a scandi grind?

Congrats Andy and crew. Looks good. I looked back through some threads about the makers mark question.

The Fiddleback Forge Needs You thread answers some of the questions - I'll bump it to the top.

Thanks VANCE for the pics and info. I'm interested in seeing a spine shot if you're able to grab one to see what the handle contour and blade thickness looks like.

Thanks for bumping this Uncle P.

They will be ground 3/4 flat
No convex or Scandi

Nice, nothing wrong with the good ol' flat grind!

Interesting. I can't wait to see the team put their finishing touches on it.

Are those detachable scales?!?! Oh boy, I see heavy modifications and customizing to those if they are removable.

Not a bad price for a big chunk of S35VN.

I figured we would see some NTM texturing on the scales. Nice! Is the plan still for the production versions to have flared tube fasteners?

Duder
That was the manufacturer of the handles prefered method of attaching scales.

That was the plan earlier today kirkwood.

To the best of my knowledge they will be marked..
"Fiddleback Forge"

The prototype looks great. I like the milled kellering texture on the sides of the handle scales. I think the price point is very reasonable for S35VN steel and an included sheath. These should be very popular. Well done!

For more clarification .... The finish on the blade is not indicative of the final finish the production model will have.

3/4 flat...so will it have a plunge line and will the guard/ricasso be finished the same as the standard Bushfingers? For a proto it looks great but I can't wait to see the finished product.

I predict you won't have any trouble selling them.

Looks good. Would have preferred CPM 154, and they will need to compete with Survive! GSO knives at that price point.

Little did I know, that in a few short years Andy and co would be peddling a gateway drug. For shame, FOR SHAME.

:D
Not my cup of tea, but looks good guys!

We are going to mark them "Fiddleback Forge". The blades are 5/32" thick CPM S35VN. The blade will be tumbled and the edges will be finished our usual style. I'm excited.

I'm looking forward to the prototype Runt thread :) Very nice guys. I wish you the best and I hope you sell a TON!
