I guess we are complex creatures . I think I listen to most instruments in search of the purest note . This is a funny thing coming from a man who prefers his blues with a little hair on it .

This search may be why I prefer flute music as there is no percussion of any kind . I suppose there is a a conflict of sorts as the air flow is guided over the flutes surface . I think that the secret to the flute makers art may be the lessening of this conflict or turbulence or some such other scientific term . I am thankfully not a scientist so I may presume to say that the maker instead promotes harmony . Again I presume to use harmony figuratively .

I like most instruments . There are some that are too strident for my ears . I think that is just a preference as there is also some flute or whistle music that is also too piercing for my ears . I prefer the low melodic tones which remind me of lovers in bed ." Pillow talk" if you must though I prefer the term "loves sweet murmur" .

Next to or an equal to the flute is the human voice , in particular a Womans voice . This may be because I am male . I think it is more woman is mother to us all . I have an Irish song which reminds me of what it must have been like to be held in my mothers arms . In truth this song comes from a line of music said to be capable to take the singer away ... never to return .
While I can sing there is no doubt there is too much frog in the base and it is best I do not choose tunes with high notes . I am lucky that the music I like best is the flute which represents the voice in a song . I do not say replace or compliment as both stand upon their own .
