At last the #66 Slim has arrived to go with the #66 Calf Roper and #68 Buckaroo, they all have purple sage covers but to my eyes the only one with any purple in it is the Calf Roper. I have given both the Calf Roper and the Buckaroo plenty of pocket time, but i am very impressed with the Slim straight out of the tube it just needed a couple of strokes on the strop to bring it to shaving sharp and as i thought the Muskrat clip is sturdier than the California clip on the Case knives i have owned, i even like the small spear point blade, usually i want to turn it into a coping blade but it seems to work on the Slim. I have only had it for a couple of hours so other than washing the factory out of it and giving it a spot of Boker Oil i have not done much with it, but French bread,cheese and an apple beckon for lunch.

I love the slim, one of if not my favorite carry knife. That purple sage is a looker. I might need to add one to my heard.
 
I too really like the looks of the 66 Slim. Minimal yet effective. And that one's got my favorite covers of the bunch, too. :thumbup:

I like the Purple Sage a lot, the colour is different on each pattern and even the jigging but they're very appealing knives indeed.
Rather regret not getting that on my Slim examples (acrylic and sawn bone), this is a very worthy carry for my needs anyway. Hope you don't mind the thread drift but here's mine with other single-spring comrades. You get an idea of the difference between Clip blades too, White Owl v Slim

How could i possibly mind Will ? I do enjoy my White Owl but am much impressed with the Muskrat clip on the Slim.
