Saw a pic of a custom collaboration between Howard Viele and Liong Mah called "The Push". Beautiful knife. When I first saw it the first thing that came to mind was "Spyderco". The blade design, what I call the "Spyderhole", the choil and the "ball-lock" all screamed Spyderco. However, it is one beautiful knife albeit too expensive for my blood. Can be seen on one of the better known knife purveyor's site.

It is on the The Knife Cellar! I will include a link. I like it this knife too. The info is from TheKnifeCeller: Description: Howard Viele / Liong Mah collaboration. This one is called Push. CPM S30V, Ti Orange Peel Bolsters and Clip. White Micarta Scales. BL is about 4" with an OAL of about 9" approx. This knife features Howards Ball Lock mechanism and it works great! Smooth, solid lockup. PreOwned in excellent condition.

This is not a commercial! Just thought you guys might wanna see it. I fell in love with this model when it came out but couldn't get one as there were only like 10 +/- made but recently got lucky and stumbled on a couple of them. The locking mechanism is strong but smooth to unlock.

My guess is that he licenses the ball lock from Spyderco as it is an Eric Glesser design. Its quite a good lock.

Didn't Howard Viele create/invent the ball lock? Or am I mistaken? That IS a gorgeous knife!!

In the description it states, "This knife features Howards Ball Lock mechanism and it works great!" Spyderco: "The following marks are recognized trademarks of Spyderco, Inc.: Ball Bearing Lock". Need to give credit where credit is due. I still like the knife though. What can I sell...hmmmm?
