There is no question of a significant Chinese presence in the knife market. Is it reasonable to assume that those knives marketed by USA companies subject to the same quality control as their domestic alternatives?

No. As with everything else, you get what you pay for. If you want to job out a manufacturing process to China and demand quality results, you need to be prepared to pay for that.

Much of the China made stuff coming in is junk, some of it is good, and some it is exceptional.

Use the search button. We've discussed the "Chinese" question from every angle and upside down.

Move on. If you have a question about or wish to discuss a particular knife you own or have your eye on, that's what we're here for.

We are not here to have discussions about "Chinese" "Pakistani" or other lower cost off-shore products as an "entity" in itself.
