That come with "unplanned unemployment"

Man, why did I screw that up so badly?

Is there any hope for me finding another job?

I've lost my wife, have I got to lose everything else?

Who gives a ratsazz?

Will Nasty move this to Whine & Cheese?

Will this depression overcome me and let me take the Dark Way Out?

Will Munk write a story about it?

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time. Smoke up from Atlanta.

Mike; Trust me on this one, everything happens for a reason. You may not be able to see or understand the reason now but, things will work out for the best.
Trust and believe in yourself, gain strength from your friends, look for the positive, yet simple things in life.

Smoke from Boise.

Damned straight, at the darkest times in my life, there's always been a friend or two willing to reach out a hand and help pull me back up. They have a knack for helping a fellow see past all the bad to find the good, and believe you me, there is plenty of good out there to be found. Keep your chin up and remember, it ain't trials and tribulations that make you who you are, it's how you respond to 'em that does that.

oh yeah? you think that sucks, I gotta have TWO teeth pulled tomorrow morning!

Seriously dude, I'm very sorry to hear about the hard times. If you can take care of today, tomorrow will take care of itself. Just keep dealing with it all in a positive manner, and you'll eventually pull out of it.

Not sure of the details, but screw ups are considered to be kind of part of the package with being human. whatever it is....'tis only human to err, you're only a dumba$$ if you don't learn from it.

are ya' kiddin'? there's a million jobs out there, you might have to make changes, but there's ALWAYS a way for a guy to get by. wanna work on the North Slope? I might could hook ya' up....:D Use the spare time ya' got to work on the resume and interview skills, as well as the usual classifieds browsing.

I've lost my wife, have I got to lose everything else?
Nope.

Who gives a ratsazz?

lots of us.

Will Nasty move this to Whine & Cheese?

If I were a betting man, I'd bet against it. If he did though, I don't believe they'd lay into ya' or anything.

Will this depression overcome me and let me take the Dark Way Out?

I hope not. Certainly not if you can cope.

Will Munk write a story about it?

Dunno.

Sorry I can't answer your questions any better.

I truly hope and pray that things get better for ya' soon.

Good, sound advice (as usual), Sarge. There's a lot of good people who'll pull for ya, Mike. Never give up.

There is steel in all of us. The hammer and anvil of adversity is revealing yours.

ah, that sounded like a gawdayum fortune cookie. :grumpy:

Here:

A new beginning, and a wonderful new life to you, friend.

Mike

Whatever you do, remember that you're not alone. Believe me when I say it could be a hell of a lot worse. And remember that it's only going to get better from here. Hang in there, and and we'll hang in here with you.

Ive been fired many times. Ive been lonely for decades at a time.
Don't you feel bad, you are passing through a phase that is all too damned familiar for many of us....

You're welcome here...and remember that it's always darkest before the light.

Hang around...talk...lots of guys have been there.

When sh*t happens, its easy to lose your perspective and forget about what good we have in our lives. It's never so bad that it can't get worse. Focus on the positive, learn your lessons, and move on.

got another one for ya...

"Am I alone?"

Oh, and an answer for ya too:

Nope! ;)

In fact, there are some of us who take planned unemployment....or at least, serious wage cuts!

oh yeah? you think that sucks, I gotta have TWO teeth pulled tomorrow morning!

And if you think that's bad, I broke one of mine today.

Mike? Keep your head. One thing at a time. Only death's permanent; everything else can be recovered from given time and will. You can get back up.

hehehe...

That's the reason I gotta get one of 'em pulled, cracked it in half while I was up on the slope. (the other is a wisdom tooth I've been putting off for years) Got tired of one half and yanked it with a Leatherman tool, but the second half is way too tenacious.

I'd feel bad if I didn't mention, it had a recent root canal though, so didn't hurt that terribly bad. (except for the wallet! )

BTW, I think you currently have the coolest avatar on all of BF!

Tough people do. If you are still breathing then there is hope. If you have your health, you are wealthier than most on this planet.
Set some kind of plan in motion and move forward. I don't care what that plan is, just make one and try to stick with it. Some times our best opportunities are disguised as setback and heartache. Realize you are not alone.

That's the best ever advice for depression. Don't sit still, don't wait for the world to come to you. Get up and go, it doesn't much matter where.

As long as you are working on something, even if it isn't for pay, you are keeping yourself thinking, and that will keep you from crawling inside yourself.
