The RAM - everything I wanted the MUDD to have!

Okay, the MUDD has a better pocketclip, but...

When I got my undeserving mitts on a ZT0500 MUDD folding pocketknife, I harassed poor Thomas W with the following two "I like it, buts:"

1. Some sort of integral guard just in case.
2. Use a nice Sandvik steel such as 12C27M

So that Hawk family designs the Kershaw RAM and it has the integral guard (as part of an addicting flipper) and the production models come out with 13C26 (might move to 14C28N next year) and then did one better by replacing the polycarbonite frame with an aluminum one. I say one better because it seems stiffer; if it's not, I'm fine - the impression is good enough and if it is, well hooray. The G10 overlays on both folders make both seem nicer in hand than my External Toggle on these colder days, but the RAM keeps a thin, hollow-ground blade in fine-grained steel.

Many thanks for all of the fun. I refuse to admit I'm addicted to flipping the RAM opened and closed. ;)

My first purchase of 09 is going to be rough trying to decide between the RAM, Shallot, CB Leek or a G-10 Leek! Rough I tell ya!

Spidey:

Here is the order I would buy them in (I have all of those models).

CB Leek
Shallot
RAM
G-10 Leek

Just my 0.02
