The Rambo knife (again)

I got one i like it,i think itz the 3rd one kinda looks like it is made on a anvil but itz a chopper............

Well I have to say I do like the concept of these knives, however, they present certain problems that I have been unable to get over. The main one being that because of the hollow handle they are not full tang which you would definitely want to have in a knife that you are going to depend on to survive.

lol you ain't seen mine,a dam train could run over it and not phase it,dam what a piece of steel.............

Interesting clip, and (mostly) accurate, too. For a guy who never served in the military, and certainly never went to Nam, he obviously had some people who had "been there, done that" who brought him up to speed.

I always thought it was a shame that they went with Jimmy Lile's knife instead of the Randall 18. The Randall truly was the original "Rambo" knife long before Morrell ever sat down to write the book.

other than those related to his death, that might be the first time the words "shame" and "lile" have been used in the same sentence.

I guess you've got me there - that may be the first time I've ever used them in the same sentence also.

it would have been fine to have the randall in the movie, but lile's knife was so innovative and it ignited such an interest in knives and knife making that i think it was absolutely the correct choice.

that original lile rambo helped spark my interest in the knife community. i lusted after the buckmaster, but could only afford the $50 cheap versions (i was only 12 or so).

a couple decades, plus a few years later, and im still buying knives. thankfully i can afford to buy what i want, mostly.
