Just thought I would chime in about the new book that Pete Hamilton, retired shop foreman of RMK, just released.
This book IMO is a must for all of you who are interested in collecting RMKs.
It goes into great detail on exactly how the knives are made at the shop. This will put to rest the rumors about RMKs not being forged or not being hand made.
The book also is a wealth of info on how to date the knives using various methods inculding detailed pictures of the many different spacer configureations used over the years.
Pictures are outstanding.
The book sells for $83.00 including S&I and can be ordered from Tom Clinton, Sharp Stuff Inc,

It was great talking with you and Fran today, I just wish I'd had more time to chat. I sure hope I wasn't short in the 'good-byes', but a co-worker with an 'emergency' came knocking. "Work before play while on company time..."

I didn't get a chance to ask you the fifty other questions I had, so that'll have to wait until the next time we speak.

Thanks for helping me out with the latest 'changes' too. You are, above and beyond, the best! :D

I did end up calling TC before the day was out, ordering Pete's new book, and I'm pretty excited about it getting here in the next few days!

There's a link for the book at the RKS site: http://www.randallknifesociety.com/

TC told me the 'special' sheath I need for the #7-5/6-9 will need to come through you, not from RMK...so, a little more business coming your way my friend... ;)

I also spoke with Wayne R. today, and he relayed the story that you're pretty happy with your new VV #14....ahh, I can't wait!

Edna says to tell you folks hi, and is hoping that all is well with you and yours too.

Thanks again Greg,

All the best,

Sheldon

p.s. Watch out for them 'gators...lol

Melvin,Love my VV mod. 14. And I'm not really a collector of the military style RMKs. My likes are more to the hunting styles. But I made an exception in this case. I got ss# 007. Every one I show it to calls it the James Bond knife. I don't take it out too much to show any more. I got tired of arguing with customers who demand to buy it. Some people seem to think that every thing has a price and this one AIN'T for sale period.
Your knife will be in about mid Sept. Greg.

This is a "must-have" just like the Gaddis book....absolutely necessary for the Randall lover.....Greg, you doing well? I still wanna chat about something special for a new 18 I've purchased.
:)
