Designed specifically for Best Ranger Competition 2002, here are some pics of the Ranger Thrower, designed by your friend and mine,
Ranger Justin Gingrich.
The Ranger Thrower is a HOSS, made from a WHOPPING 3/8th stock, and its lines are inspired by one of our favorite throwing knives, Bobby Branton's See-Wee Trade Dag.
The comfortable integral double guard, palm swell, angulated linear convex grinds, and cord wrapped handle make it a PLEASURE to use and THROW.
Massive swaths are cut into the target with the point design and there isn't anything that stops it when it hits....it's HEAVVVVVY and rightly so, for two reasons,
1) It's spin rate was designed to be identical to the Vietnam Tactical Tomahawk....both single spin distances are nearly identical, so you DON'T have to move your spot when tossing either.
2) It had to be "Ranger" tough, and Justin would have it NO other way.
New to the industry is American Tomahawk's use of H-13 tool and dye steel in this thrower. Normally seen in forging dies, casting dies, and extrusion tooling, this steel is EXTREMELY tough, which is especially important a thrower. The Ranger Thrower through hardens at 54-56, and does NOT rust, due to its distribution of Carbon, Chromium, and other elements. It also takes a BEAUTIFUL finish and holds its hardness at high heat.
The hooks in the guard are being replaced with peaked ramps on both sides, with friction grooves.
The Ranger Thrower will be available in the near future for $99 and it will be among the most impressive pieces of airborne steel in your arsenal.
More soon...thanks for taking a look!
