OK Jeff and Mike here's a two-parter.
1.) What are the specs of the knife you would want with you to survive with, if it was your only knife? Say your plane went down, so conditions could be high in the Andes, or the lowlands, or midwest USA, etc, you won't know where you are till you're there. For ease let's say this is as a civilian, not a combat op. No one is chasing you.
I'm looking for specs, not a brand. Blade length, width, thickness, steel, choil or no, coating, color, etc.
2.) Would the spec change if the conditions changed to you having your favorite chopper with you (machete, hatchet, whatever), and what would the new specs be?
If a RAT knife doesn't meet the specs of 1 or 2, are you planning on making a RandBo Special in the future?
Always interested in what the pros would take if they could spec out anything they wanted and not choose off the shelf.
