The RC-6 joined my RC-3 today - now for that Junglas to top off the perfect set! I am amazed at the RC-6 form, balance, heft and overall splendid feel of the handle. I am a structural-functionalist at heart and I believe the RC-6 is the perfect all-around knife. Pure, tough, capable. Now to get out and do some field tests. :D

Like KGD said recently.... the rc6 has ruined the entire mid-sized knife market for us. :)

Wow, March must have been ESEE 6 month. I just ordered one last week, and I have seen several threads here and on other forums about it. Can't wait for mine to get here. If it is half a good as all the praise I have seen for it, I will be very pleased.

Get outside and use the hek out of that blade! I know I will.

Pics to be posted following the field tests this weekend. Will have a delightfully wet, windy and cold NW weekend in the mountains to add to the fun!

FWDHO: IMO I always like carrying 2 blades. I like the dual partnership use between a small knife and a big knife. Its why in a few tix I will order a 5 and 6, its all on use. Its like for me? I use snap on tools for work work, and clients cars, but for home and garage projects I use craftsman, still do the same things, just one is more down to function no over glitz. Same purpose, less jewelry. My craftsman are newer by 2 years than my snap on, and I've built more bikes and modified more with them for old man, his friends and such. Than my snap on tools have, however snap on has worked on more cars than crafty ;P so theres a trade between use, and preferance. My izzie took some getting used to before my aunt took it, the loop was SUPER handy, because of the style of movements I use, as well courses my dads companies security guy is teaching, its really a well thought out knife. When my pink izzie comes in, I will surely get laughed at, but hey, its the same as any other izzie, just color. :) function over form, is my motto, it goes for cars and bikes, trucks, boats, doesnt matter what I'm building ground up or modifying. It has to perform and function flawlessly or to what it was intended to do. If it just soooo weeee happens, it looks good just cause? Than by all means! WOOT it. I see all this really expensive knives around, when visiting family in japan, and china, and other places, and go see people and places making swords, or knives? I think wow...thats cool. but would i stake my life on any of those tools? from a sword to a knife...thats the Q. I also like companies that are flexable. Esee offers personal logoed knives at bare order min of 50 pieces, I wish I could get that many together ;P hahaha. Nice buy on the 6 though! One thing that gets me though? If you're ganna get it, USE it. I often see with car guys? They get huge massive brakes be it brembo, to stoptech, AP, and so on...coilovers, light weight seats and body parts, cages, aero items meant to lighten and help plant down, rear seats removed....car jenny craiged basicly and turned spartan race machine....but the driver? NEVER practices with it on a track setting...they go to car shows, try so hard to get featured in magazines...the car and its parts are never full utilized. its like buying a esee knife and just putting it into a display case :\

but anyways bud! enjoy it! youre lucky! Im waiting to get my 5 and 6 :)

Grover: Get it...than you'll know why. I will wait...and bide my time...6 and a 5, a junglas too, oh yes...will be mine. my....preciousesesssssses...

TTD: I bet you say that to all the esee knives ;P

FwdHO: Wear gloves, dress warmly, have fun!

I like the 6 about as good as anything made for woods work. Unless of course it's my cheap ass machete from latin America!

lol. ran across a guy once with a jacked and loaded Jeep. huge-ass aggressive tires, the works. Was -bragging- it'd never been off road or seen snow. I don't get some people.

It seems like the RC-6 is slowly becoming the ESEE flagship knife. Once people get it in their hand and use it, there is no substitute:D

It's a great knife, but it seems like those 3's are the ones that just multiply by themselves.

Funny you said that. When we first introduced it I told everyone it would be the flagship. Some dealers came back to me and asked "what happened" because it wasn't selling as well as other RC products. Now what we are seeing is the knife indeed becoming the flagship for folks who really like to use a knife. It just feels right in the hand and it works. Slaes have gone way up on the 6.

Even with all the knives we make, for where I live a machete is still my go-to blade for just about everything I do.

Diz: I know, I run into people like that all the time. "I have this engine swapped and built, but its never seen active use except for daily driving to work...or school" , I don't like seeing huge bro ho trucks or rice cooker imports. I appreciate any fine built vehicle that performs as its outfitted, but trend biters and followers? The bandwagoners? Eh... they rub me the wrong way.

Rat: Where do you live? You use your lite machete? Or do you suggest any other kinds besides yours?

As Forrest Gump would say: ALABAMA!

I'm a fan of just about any Latin made machete. "Ours" is actually an El Salvador Condor with a Micarata handle. We figured there was no way we could improve on the Condor so why not buy the blade from them and put out own handle on it.
