The reason I stop at yard sales

First post here... I have a few old knives and stopped at a junk sale to see if I could pick up another. I noticed a nice hardly used Olsen OK that was made for Furlong Archery. I believe these were sold by Joe Furlong at his shop in northern Detroit. I asked the nice gentleman if he had any other hunting stuff and he takes me to a wall locker with an old orange jacket. I picked up the coat and it was strangely heavy. I looked in the sleeve and pulled out an old orange hat that secured a beautiful Schrade USA 125 OT and unopened box of 30-30 shells. Neither knife has ever been sharpened. Both sheaths are like new as well.

You have to stop at a lot of garage sales to have a day like this. Scored a nice 50's Sheakespear fly rod two stops later. All in all a good rainy day of treasure hunting.

You didn't mention the price for these. The greatness of yardsales are you can find lots of steals.

I figure the 30-30 Core Lokts are worth $18. That puts the knives at a buck each.

I stopped at a garage sale on the way home from work a few months ago and the owner convinced me to buy an old pair of RayBan Shooter sunglasses from him. He had 2 pairs, one polarized and one in yellow, but I only bought the polarized for $5. Tried them on when I got home and hated how they looked on me, so they went on eBay----sold for $200. Sure wish I had bought the yellow ones as well!

All that for a 20, you must've been wearing a mask and acting suspicious.
It was a great day for sure. Like I said earlier you have to look at a lot of baby clothes and women's shoes at garage sales before you find one with great stuff priced right.
