For a couple months I've been frequenting the websites of those that are listed as authorized dealers for a particular knifemaker. I had the pages in a folder set up to auto-open with a single mouse click. Over and over again what I was after was out of stock.
A week and and a half ago I was doing the usual "click and look" with my morning coffee. Nope, nope, nope, stop! Scroll back...YES! Shake my head and rub my eyes; still yes.
Still didn't believe what I seeing so I grabbed my phone.
Me: Your webpage shows the knife in stock. Is this correct?
Him: Sure is. We got 'em.
Me: Cool! I want one. I have my credit card right here.
Him: You'd better order it on the web. I'm out of the shop until late this afternoon and there's a good chance they'll be gone by then.
I hope he heard my "thanks for your help" as I tossed my phone on the couch and headed back to my 'puter.
Click, type, click, type, click, confirm, click. Do a happy dance around the room and finally settle down. Spend the next couple days trying to think about anything but the package listed as "in transit."
Finally it arrived and you can color me happy. The only thing worse than my typing skills are my photography skills but the two below will give you the idea.
