My first day of visiting the Kamis and the shop, Tirtha Kami and his family
visited me. They brought me a beautiful rooster as a welcome gift. I told
them that I couldn't accept a gift. They pleaded with me to take the rooster
as a heartfelt gift from their family. I couldn't disappoint that family and
accepted the rooster.

Since I do not kill any living thing, I let the rooster go free on my father's
farm. The next day I went outside to check on my rooster and he was long
gone. I thought he didn't like my father's farm and went to find a better
place to live.

I asked the Sarki's helper if he knew where my rooster was. With a big smile
on his face he told me my rooster was already in the toilet. He ate my
rooster for his dinner the night before. This made me very sad, but there
was nothing I could do about it.

Later, when I told Tirtha about my rooster's plight, he laughed and said, "It
was a gift for you, sister, and someone else got it." I have posted a photo

of Tirtha's family and my rooster sitting together with me in my father's
living room.

That is too bad...hopefully, your rooster felt little pain.... Random fact: the longest tail feathers in the history of the world belonged to an experimental hybrid rooster, around 30-37 feet long! Craziness. Anyway, forgive my slightly related, yet unrelated fact, I, as always, have nothing but the utmost respect for you, Auntie Yangdu, and pass that respect on to those you work with, as well as what you own. Rest in Peace, Unnamed Rooster. PS. A rather cool looking rooster too. I hope he was not a rare breed or something. Peace.
