Lately I have been reading more and more about people here having to suffer the lost of a treasure due to either a bad selling or trading experience. Here is an idea, create a new area (not GBU)where there would be an area specifically for listing someones name in either a good person to deal with, use caution, and the red list. Now each area would include a persons complaint that they have and the other person could always give their side. Once your name is placed in the caution area, you have 30 days in which to correct the problem. If not then your name is placed in the red area and your membership is revoked and you are banned.
The judges for this could be the moderators. If someone is thinking of trading or buying from someone they could always go to this area and check the name for any negative activity.
I am sure that if there is a good response to this then it can be tweaked to something that we can all agree to be acceptable but the bottom line is, I think that it is time for a change here with these low lifes ripping people off. We are only as safe as we let ourselves be safe, let's improve our safeguards!

Banning someone from a deal gone bad dont seem like a good idea !
Spark would never go for such a idea. If you get ripped post it in the gbu forum thats what its for .

Actually, people have been banned for ripping other forumites off.

I don't see the need for this s**t list. If you have a problem with someone, post it in the GB&U forum. If you are looking to do a deal with someone, do a search of the persons name and user name in the GB&U forum. I fail to see why this needs to have its own area.

Bladeforums.com is a discussion forum, not a court room. Spark is a knife dealer and webmaster, not a judge. When you start acting like a court and a judge, you can get yourself into legal hot water.

The opinions expressed in GB&U are just that, opinions expressed by individual members. That's a discussion forum.

But, if we were to begin to require members to respond to posts within certan time limits or face penalties, that's a whole different matter.

Spark has, a few times in the past, banned members when it has become completely obvious that they're abusing their forum membership to defraud other members. But those have been really gratuitous cases. If you're aware of such a person, please bring that to the attention of Spark or one of the moderators.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the only differences from TGB&U that I can see are an arbitrary 30-day time limit and the idea that the moderators should decide who you should buy from, instead of letting you decide for yourself. Neither strikes me as a good idea ... but maybe I'm missing something....

We do expect the highest standard of trading ethics from everyone trading on Bladeforums, and we ban swindlers as fast as we catch them.
