Hello everybody,

I have developed this "survival project" to have a mini fire-starter always ready on my SAK. I called it SAK Mini Fire Capsule

To do it, you need a small straw, some cotton wool and petroleum jelly, plus a pair of pliers and a lighter

At the end, you will had a "fire capsule" that you may carry in the SAK corckscrew for montsh or years, always ready to ignite a fire

Here you may find a step-by-step tutorial and a video about it and the final result http://adoricchi.blogspot.it/2015/02/sak-swiss-army-knife-mini-fire-capsule.html

Have fun with your bushcraft, guys :-)

My kindest regards,
Alfredo

Alfredo, that's a great idea.... really like your Blog too, thank you for sharing your information.

Great idea. I tend to buy SAKs without the corkscrew because it is never used by me. One person in a knife store indicated that the corkscrew could be used to secure a rope (tie down point) if one wanted to. But again I have always chosen other tools in the past. May have to reconsider.
