Made this Saturday night, had a freind visiting and we spent some time in the shop. Forged this from 5/16" x 1.5" 1095, differential heat treat using clay. Any how, blade is 9-1/2" x just under 2", overall length is 14-3/4".
Wrap is a dark forest green, looks black until you get it in the Sun.

Keith, you took the word right out of my mouth: WOW! That is one impressive knife! Especially 'cause it's forged (instead of stock-removal) and traditionally heat-treated! Very, very nice work!

looking very "Inner City" like....:D

HA! exactly what i was going to make, my version of an Inner City (John M. Smith).... Was going to do the hidden tang, brown steel guard, Curly Maple etc... But the company I had this weekend wanted to see how simple cord wrapping was, so I decided to do a full tang/wrap.

Someday, im gonna make my copy of an Inner City.... or buy yours!:D

Very, very nice........ I sure would like to spend some time with you and Oley Fermo (sp?).

Are you guys going to Batson's?

Okay, they're gone now. Proceed with the Inner City plan. :D

As you obviously remember, I still have a couple of John's pieces. I will send the stag/carbon piece along when I send the chopper back for final edge. I agree with Roger and believe you should continue with the progression. The hamons are awesome. The piece you did for Peter was incredible, I fact I'm still trying to convince him to let me try it out. Keep up the great work. I'll send the blades along shortly.

i really dig the simplicity of this one...really nice Matt. btw, do you plan to make sheaths for your knives?

oh yeah...i'm the owner of this here piece of steel. :)

Michael.... thanks! looking forward to seeing that Inner City... I remember some photos from about 10 years ago... wish I would have bought it then. You could send the wood handled one if you prefer.

Saint- someday I may do sheaths, but not sure. I can have them made for a more reasonable price than my time would allow. If you want a sheath for that one, email me.
