Rudyard Kipling used the phrase in a different context, but I couldn't help thinking of it when I read this story. Dead over a burglary of a vacant building. I hope the bad guys make a full recovery. So we can HANG THEM.

'Sopranos' actor linked to police officer slaying

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the actor and another man were breaking into a vacant home when [Officer Daniel] Enchautegui, who had just finished a late-night shift, heard the sound of smashing glass next door.

Enchautegui was off duty and in his street clothes, but he alerted his landlord and dialed 911 to report a possible burglary in progress. Then he grabbed his badge and a gun and went out to investigate.

His landlord heard Enchautegui shout, "Police! Don't move!" followed by a burst of gunfire, Kelly said.

Yeah, that guy probably would have had a career as a character actor in Martin Scorcese movies, and would have gotten help for his H habit. But he had to go and kill a cop:mad:   . These idiots begin to think they're these "tough" gangland types after a while. Hope he gets inside for a good long while.

On the news last night they said the officer emptied an 8 round clip and hit one or the other perp with every shot. Too bad they are alive and he is dead:thumbdn:

In New York I think it would be stick a needle in their arm rather than hang them but either way it would be just desserts.

If nothing else, he sure as hell made sure they knew they'd been touched.

Things like this make me sick. When a police officer is killed in the line of duty by some scum, its like a part of our society is killed. A policeman is someone who is risking their life for us, trying to give the comunity a better place. It should be an automatic death sentance for the slaying of an LEO.

What kind of gun was he using that he shot them multable times with very little effect?

There is no sure thing ,nothing sure to stop someone regardless of cartridge !People on drugs especially resist gun wounds. As for the gun I still don't know as each source says something else . One said a 25 auto, another said Kahr [though misspelled]. Kahr 9mm is approved for off duty use for the NYPD.

We no longer have the death penalty in NY. Even when we did the last time, no one was executed. :jerkit:
