When I got my SAR3 I was pretty Hard on Busse (and fairly so ) after having so many knives not in working sharp condition.

I have to say that I am impressed and happy with the new Accountability on the cardboard sleeve as to who is responsible for providing a swine shaving sharp edge. ( I think we really need to see someone shave a swine)

This knife #42 SCABS is the Highest Quality BUSSE I have laid my hands and Eyes on. the SAR8 was the previous.

This blade is of the Design and Quality of the highest standards that I'd expect for the money we pay, and I hope that this new lease on life is not a one off, but a sure sign of every blade release from BUSSE from now on.

Please maintain this level of Quality, and you will never get a bad word from me for your product :)

If Ever you were going to make a knife a permanantly available option.. This is the knife that would set you apart as a producer of real knives for real people.

Thanks.. this one is a keeper.

Thanks for the video Kyley. It was almost like fondling my own new LCABS - which I've actually been able to put down for more than a few hours now.

Glad to see your out of the box comparison. I haven't received mine yet but was interested to see what your first impressions were. Looking forward to the vid showing it after you touch up the edge.

Honestly.. This is the very first Busse Knife I own where I think there is actually NOTHING.. I Mean NOTHING that requires changing.. Its perfect as it is..

The Edge has that kind of bitey shaving sharp you get from doing it on a buffing wheel instead of a hand polish.. but its holding its edge fantastically well. Not shaving sharp anymore.. that disappears quite quickly on cardboards. But the edge just glides through everything.

This is probably the best sharpened production knife I've ever purchased. Best all round Knife in its class that I've purchased. I just made a sheath for it and I am uploading that video now

If I was going to complain about anything and I am stretching here I would prefer the pommel to have the 90 degree edges left instead of the rounded edges. I rarely drill holes with my knife and would prefer the ability to scrape with the pommel. That is a really picky thing though.

The only knife I have ever handled that is sharper is my Tom Krein reground ZDP Delica and Endura. But that is not factory. I am actually thinking of buying one more of these because they are that good.

That part is very very easy to fix. 10 minutes or less if you have a grinder (carefull, and easy does it).

The only thing, I might, and I mean might one day want to do, is to swap out the handle scales for thicker (or just add some liners). But I would have to use it extensively before I decide. This is my first paper micarta handle, and I need to feel it out with real use.

Loving it so far, but may be a bit smooth in the hand for bloody work (or maybe I am just more used to more grip from canvas micarta, and rougher machining patterns).

Thanks for the reviews guys!!!! . . . . We made some much needed changes and I think the results will continue to speak for themselves.

In order to get into the Busse sharpening room now, you have to get past an iris scan, thumbprint scan, blood alcohol test, IQ test, and know the words to "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash!:thumbup:

Needless to say, I can only pass 3 of the 5 tests, so I'm out, but it does insure that we have only our best guys in there now.

Let's Drink!!!!
