The scanners you guys use???

I know some of you guys use a scanner to take pics of your knives, my printer/scanner dosent do a very good job, and I know its not right. What kind of scanner do I need to do that??? And I dont have a ton of cash to spend but someone told me you can pick the up faily cheap???? guys-

Joel - Look at this thread. It apppears the scanners of choice are from the Epson Perfection series. They get the best depth of field results.

I do not think you have to spend a lot either, but there are a bunch of them in this model, plus they have been around for a long time.

Bob W and Waynorth are two seasoned scanners that get great results.
 
Mine is an Epson Perfection 3170.
I have a HP scanner/printer also. It is great for copies & photos, but won't scan a knife for sour apples.
I was going to get rid of the Epson until I found out I can't scan a knife on the HP. I love my old Epson.

Joel, I've got the Epson Perfection V500, here's a scan I just did of a few barlows, with a t-shirt draped over them. You can see that the depth of field is wide enough to bring the shirt behind the knives into focus as well:

HP makes some good ones as well, but like the Epsons, you need to go with the stand alone models, which seem to have a much better scan system. I think the all in ones are basically for documents only.
