The Sebenza to be and the Sebenza that never was

I've been fortunate lately to add these two knives.
While we wait for the 25, it is interesting to see another direction that CRK might have taken.
There is a strong family resemblance between the Lochsa and Sebenza.
The Lochsa adds S90V steel, Chris went to S35VN.
The serrations on the Lochsa thumblugs recall the P Sebenza.
The jimping on the 25 is a winner, and I'd rate them:
25 > P > Regular / Classic > Lochsa.
The 25 has a lower pitch and softer snap when opening.
The unsculpted areas of the Lochsa are just a bit thicker than my 25.
The larger size of the 25 is just that bit more comfortable in my hand.
I'd love to see an H Lochsa. What a tank that would be!
And to my eyes a much cleaner look without the spacers on the beautiful sculpted
Lochsa.

Two observations: (1) Everytime I read one of your post, I feel like a knife green horn. (2) Nice knives!

Cool comparison pic...they look very similar. I think the new 25 blade looks almost like a regular blade with a swedge.

What I would do to get my hands on a Lochsa. The grail knife that I'm afraid I might not have a chance to get. Amazing duo you have there.

Green with envy. I hope i can acquire a lochsa someday as well. The 25 will just have to wait till this winter.

Hope you post up more pics, seems we have a few BF members with the proto :D

Google indicates they are sold by Scott Cook Knives, but they stopped taking orders on the Lochsa folder in 2010. The only plus I noted was that the blade could be ordered, back then, in s90v also.
I'll keep my Sebenza at about 1/2 the price of the Lochsa. I like it just fine. I've had it one whole day, and I still have it sitting on my desk in the box, where I can pull it out occasionally and look at it and check how smoothly it operates. Very pleased. Will get around to carrying it, but gosh, I'd hate to mess it up.

Sonny both CRK and Scott Cook will pretty up your knife again when you feel it needs it. So take that knife out and cut something!
I've already put a few scratches on the shiny scale of my Lochsa. Don't care as it is one fine knife. Used it yesterday to open up the
holes in a door for a new lockset. Today I opened several packages from Amazon and need to get the glue off.
Of the 2 knives pictured in post 1, the CRK is more expensive and will live in the safe.
PS take a look on Scotts site at the Bench knife that sold recently:eek:
You could buy about 3 of the limited edition 25's for that price.

amazing duo, awesome to know you use the lochsa!

It is just too good a knife not to use. I do hope to add a Safe Queen someday when my turn comes around.
I'm going to get a regular production 25 too. Just wish it came with Super Steel.

Two Very Beautiful Grails you have there, Awesome is the first word that comes to mind.
