AC, great question! Let's see if I can shed some light here. I may have been the one who started that Wegner/Sebenza comparison you're referring to. The reason the two came together in my mind was that both are considered excellent real-world working knives. If you can picture the Wegner without the Spydie hole, I think the blades do share a similarity of geometry. Both have deep bellys, and are variations on the Loveless drop point design. The Integral lock of the Sebby is similar to the liner lock of the Wegner. Both utilize high quality materials (ats-34 and G10 for the Wegner, BG42 and ti for the Sebby). If you read reviews of both knives, the one thing that is most prevelant is owners stating that to really appreciate these knives, one has to USE them, and use them hard. Another thing I note is that neither knife has any feature which is not functional. Everything about these knives is there for a purpose, nothing is for "looks" only. In fact, neither of these knives would win a beauty contest. I personally like the looks of both, but there's no denying that there are many "sexier" knives out there. As far as the Carnivore is concerned, I would not consider any knife with a recurved blade to be a working or user knife when compared to either the Wegner or the Sebenza. REKAT's Pioneer series would be much better suited for a daily user knife. If someone were to ask me to recommend an awesome user knife (folder), my first question would be how much they want to spend. Depending on that answer, I would recommend either the Sebenza or the Wegner.
