Had a little trouble finding this, but picked it up on the 'bay from a dealer. Most of you know that the chisel grinds *can* be a pain to sharpen, especially if you use a sharpmaker, and they aren't really the best slicers in the world ;) So I reground this one to around .003" thick behind the edge while at the same time converting it to a conventional "V" ground edge, and sharpened it up on the Wicked Edge to 15 dps... is a cutting machine now. And that's what makes Emersons so great for a scandi type edge - the low primary grind. And now it's SUPER easy to touch up on the sharpmaker in only a few seconds and be able to maintain for a long time.

And I just have to throw out there that this is by far the smoothest folder that Emerson has put out to date... from the factory at least!

That's cool Josh! There's a reason I carry I second knife every day... Emerson's are great, but as you said, not slicey. Very nice grinds btw!

that might be a way for me to actually one day care enough about the emersons to someday purchase one.

Looks great Josh. The Sheepdog is a very tempting knife. I am a bit surprised you didn't take the grind a little higher toward the spine, but that was probably to preserve the blade markings. Nice work as usual.

Still waiting for it. Bought one and it is still in transit.
