The simple pleasure of knife shopping...

I spent an hour today at my local Army Navy Surplus store just looking at and handling different knives. They have a nice selection of Case knives and I selected a Case Pocketworn Canoe in lizard skin bone. I needed to get a traditional style kife to offset the acquisition of a Walker Klotzli CF and a handground Sifu. The knife is perfect! Grind lines, handle fit and finish -not a line out of place.

I enjoy shopping for traditional folders more so than the tactical stuf (of which I own my share!) It seems that there is so much more variety to be had with the "old fashioned" stuff - rather than the black and bead blasted monsters we tend to spend most of our time on.

Case makes a great knife! It was the best hour I spent all day! I'm still handling it 4 hours later!

I like shopping for knives too! As a small child I used to go to Toys-R-Us to shop for fun. Now my recreational visits are to Army/Navy Surplus.

Chris, I know what ya mean. It seems lately I have been leaning towards traditional styles once again. The latest one was today, I found a neat little shop just about 10 minutes up the highway from me. I picked up a Remington R4 utility knife. Looks kinda like the old boy scout knives.

I have a Case Copperlock in Red Bone. I see your canoe is lizzard bone? What does that look like? Can you put up a picture of your new one, I would like to see it.

The store is Porter's Army Navy on Irving Blvd. here in Irving. I will scan the knife and try to post the pics...

They have a nice selection of knives there and will be happy to order anything you want that they don't have!
