Hello,

It's just over a year now, since I sat at home, in UK, shocked, and saddened by the images of 9/11. I just can't believe that you are all going through hell again, at the hands of the WORST kind of murderer..... he who has'nt got the guts even to face his victims.

We are somewhat cushioned in the UK from this kind of hell, due to the width of the Atlantic, but it doesn't mean we are not thinking of you. We are with you, at least in spirit. BE OF GOOD HEART!!

I just hope that one of your police officers or soldiers gets to slip his Busse between 2nd and 3rd rib, l/h/s, before he gets the chance to murder another poor unsuspecting victim!!

From an ex military man (and proud Busse owner) ..... Semper Fi!!

Yours aye,

Doug

Just caught this -- hope the Busse folks don't mind my reply in here, but thank you, Doug!

The most recent shooting happened right in the county where I grew up (Fairfax County, Va). I'm thinking about friends of the family right now. Just saw the following on the Montgomery Cty PD site. Evidently, the latest eyewitness acounts have been shown to be unreliable (according to an AP report). On the site, the police list this stuff for people to know. I think it's good reading for all of us who are mindful of personal safety in today's weird world:

Tips from Montgomery County Police: How To Be A Good Witness

1. Remember personal safety comes first. If you hear the sound of a gunshot – get down, and/or seek cover.

2. Look in the direction of the sound – make a mental note of persons or vehicles in that area.

3. With regard to people, remember that some facts and characteristics are permanent and some are temporary. For example:

People:

Temporary

·Clothing/color

·Hairstyle or color, facial hair (beard or mustache)

·Glasses

Permanent

·Height/Weight/Build

·Complexion

Vehicles:

Temporary

·Color

·Tag Number

·Dents/primer

·Lights on/off or broken/burned out

Permanent

·Make

·Model

Additional things to remember:
Some temporary characteristics can be altered more easily than others.

Commit what you saw to memory. Have a pen available on your person; if paper is not available, write what you just witnessed on your hand.

Remain on the scene, in a safe place, until police arrive.

DO NOT allow another witness or media to contaminate your memory.

DO NOT compare or discuss what you saw with another witness.

Remember that your safety is paramount—but your assistance in this case is also necessary.

The sniper will be caught, just a matter of dead or alive. He's not having as big of an impact on this area as the media makes it out.

Yes, a sad state of affairs.

Hope for quick justice...

Thanks for stoppin by Brian. Great post buddy.

The media is really feeding him and the frenzy. Every police report or analysis is broadcast for him to learn from. I love all the theories the "experts" trot out on the various news magazine shows. If he was ever short on ideas, he can watch them for new plans...:footinmou

I think they should give it a basic news blackout, and not give him the satisfaction!

I agree with you Bobby B. CNN uses Clint Van Zant, however, as a consultant, and he was one of the best profilers in the FBI. You can bank on what he says -- but notice he won't say much...;)

Clint agreed the press and everyone else should not to call this yutz a sniper or anything but a loser and a murderer. There lonely guys feed on attention, even negative attention, because it's better than no attention at all for them. The usual profile of past sniper type serial killers one one of childhood neglect and abuse. The last kid picked for the team, the one nobody liked, the one who could never form normal relationships, both romantic and platonic. They also -- in every case -- researched the "work" of their predecessors in snpier-serial killing.

I was remembering a chapter in "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin DeBecker: "Better to be wanted by the police than not wanted at all." That about sums it up.

We do not know how much control or cooperation there is between law enforcement and the media. Some of the information being released may be a direct attempt to throw the killer a curve ball.

Also, a "sniper" is a skilled professional who acquired many skills to perform a difficult task for his country. Whoever is performing these acts is a coward, a criminal and sick. Carlos Hathcock was a sniper. This guy (gal?) is no Carlos Hathcock!

I used to bike with friends on the bike path by Benjamin Tasker Middle School. Kind of weirded me out when I first saw it on TV. Called my friends and they felt weird, since it was a place they were familiar with.

For the most part, I noticed that people seem to move a little quicker around the gas stations. I live and work in the Bowie area and am a little worried- This guy's pattern indicates that he strikes repeatedly in the same area. Sine he hasn't been back to the Bowie area, I avoid going to the shopping center. Probably just being a little paranoid....

I hope that this guy gets caught soon. But he seems to be changing his habits. Let's pray he slips up and gets caught- soon.

That they have arrested two men in Virginia, driving a white van. I hope to god it's them.
