This blade is actually a pretty capable woodsplitter and firecraft knife. For its intended purpose of being a combat and a fighter, it's still a good woodsblade. For you people wondering.
the blade itself is 6mm thick and the tang is around 15.5mm wide all the way to the buttcap. Which is easy to tighten if it becomes loose. Loctited it with blue Loctite and it hasn't come loose yet.
No rat-tang or thin stick whatsoever. The edge retention is very good and the people at SOG does great work with the AUS-8. Having owned two SEKI-made SOGs, this one is equally good when it comes to quality.
At least in my opinion... And it captures the Vietnam-era feel
