Rolf,I've owned it for about a year now.I have to admit haven't used it extensively but probably just a few weeks of EDCing - opening mail, cutting fruit like apples and oranges, some light whittling, and the such then placed away in a drawer. Then off to my next knife purchase.
As for the comments about the chunky handle being overly thick,I have to disagree as for the thickness is made up by it's slimmer width and smaller handle circumference.Another thing that I've noticed,as I only have two button lock folders both Bokers', is there is no circular arc cutout in the blade for the blade to lock open.Instead the blade is like the standard right angle style tang found on all there knives with a stop pin resting just behind the jimping,on this model, the button lock lies across the other end on a flat tang.As for the N680 blade from the factory arrived razor sharp and had a a nice toothness to the edge, and the edge was easily touched up.The handle is made of grivory with a diamond pattern with does not prove much texture and is still pretty slick. As for the lightness mentioned by many that is attributed by the extensive skeletonizing and has not liners. As for the blade after light use the BK coating shows little wear unlike the cerakote on my BM710.
IHMO,the Soldat is not a bad buy for the money which can be had for around the $30 - 40 range but is no Bm griptillian. For the people, reading this,if you're using this knife as a knife and not a pry tool I see no reason why this knife shouldn't last.
