The Sp10 might be an ideal zombie knife when compared to others

Hey guys, it has been awhile since I have been on, because while filming a little survival video I ended up getting sucked under a log in a river and destroyed my phone...

In my past knife comparisons the Sp10 has gotten a bit of a bad wrap, as some people here have probably mentioned. I just kept finding ways that the Sp10 DIDN'T work for me.

Then I started this light hearted test, and the Sp10 really impressed me!

In this video I chopped up some melons and things. This video is light hearted, so if you want to keep things completely hard core this video is probably not for you...

I compared the Sp10, Sp5, Rtak II, Bk9, and a traditional Ex Gurkha Khukuri House Traditional Service #1 khukuri to each other while slicing and dicing different melons and water bottles.

All the variables weren't as controlled as I would have liked, but I really did my best, and had fun doing it, and I hope that you guys can have fun watching it!

Anyways, here it is. I hope someone gets some enjoyment from the video.

And if anyone gets mad at me about the results or says that it was rigged, my edc woods knife got last place. I am not saying that the results are perfect. They aren't. Too many variables, and too many that I couldn't control. But I did try my best to be fair.

That's awesome. I'm a big fan of tests that really subject knives to controlled and measured circumstances so you end up with hard facts, but if that's all we were ever going to have, we would have like 3 knife reviewers in the world. It wouldn't be much fun and you wouldn't get a real feel for the knives. Every now and then, you just have to go Gallagher with one of these things.

That said, if we're talking about zombies as they exist in most movies, I'm going with the SP8. Out of the sheath, it's a great machete, in the sheath, it's an excellent club.

sp10 & sp8 which one is heavier ?

Sweet kinves! I really think the Ontario`s knives give you the best bang for your buck. The Sp10 is a top and serious no bs platform to most survival situations you may come across. I like very much its geometry, all of them are excellent survival kinves, but the sp10 could be seriously considered as a fighting option as well. It`s like a military knife on steroids. I enjoyed very much your vid.

sorry that I haven't been around in a bit guys, life got crazy, and I have some very big stuff coming up!

With that being said, this video wasn't nearly as controlled as I wanted it to be, let alone as controlled as it should be, but I felt that I got a good idea of how the knives handled... for chopping watermelons. ;-)

For anyone looking into the Sp5, I think that it and the Ontario Kukri might be some of the best buys on the market today. Man, they are a DEAL!

About the only thing that would make the SP-10 better would be a steel butt hilt, with lanyard hole still on it of course.
