The search engine is down and I have gone back ten pages already trying to find out more about the SPOT I just ordered - the VG-10 version - with Micarta. As a ********* in the evenings, I work in a rough part of town, this would fit well in an ankle brace I think. I cannot take a weapon inside. This will make a great food knife.

Where is it made? Who designed it? When? Who has any experiance with it?

TALK / TALK / :p

As far as I know- it is a collaboration between Fred Perrin & Sal Glesser. It's a wicked little cutter- it may be hard to conceptualize visually, but it's instinctual once you get it into your hand. I moved mine along to a friend, she really loves it- in fact she slept with it on during the blackout that followed Hurricane Isabel here in VA. I'm not sure if it's an asian-made piece or if it's done in Golden. As for "concealed" carry, an "inside-the-waistband" static rig would give you more accessability than an ankle rig. The decision is yours in re: workplace restrictions on "weapons".

got mine in aus 6 serr. and it's a great little weapon.
i wear it on neck, great feel in hand -it became part of your skeleton, so it's impossible to take it away from you ,at least without really bad wounds... also with knife in hand ,you can grab or hold other items in same hand, and this is important for a SD knife - .
it's a human claw, and btw ,you did good choosin' VG10, mine (maybe is the chemical of my sweat, maybe is that A6 version is beadblasted ) when i wear it on skin,or even on cotton thsirt, get little spots of rust (real little,but..) in a few hours.
But now i oil it twice and clean more often and dosn't worry anymore.
Aus 6 is done in Japan, Seky probally.
and, yes, as Rugger wrote, is loved by women -or at least
by my wife (!)
she finded it ..interesting.

take care of the new toy,
my best regards

I got the one with micarta and VG-10 the blade is a bit smallish but it cuts like hell ! The finger ring fits my hand like glove too. I just find it a bit difficult to get out of the neck rig it comes in but after a bit of tampering with the screw that now is added to the sheath it was no problem. Great knife.

Got the Spot! I like it very much; am very suprised how well it is hidden under even a Polo shirt. The only miniscule problem for me is that it is a little smaller than I thought; but what can I expect with size 16 fingers eh?
The Micarta really dresses this little beauty up - I will trim up the Micarta this weekend and get rid of the stringies. I have several of the Cold Steel Spikes which make this blade seem so puny (but this is far more PC - yet effective if used properly)- but again, this is not a problem for what I will use this for; and if - God forbid - I ever have to protect myself, this is just fine for biomechanical usage +.

Another great product from Spyderco!!!:D
