The Spyderco Caly 3 and its competitors:

The Al Mar Nomad, Al Mar Mini SERE 2000, Benchmade H&K 14210 and Blade-Tech Ganyana are in my opinion the quality competitors to the Spyderco Caly 3. Obviously there are other knives, which can be added. I own or have owned all these knives. Unfortunately, my Caly 3 has not arrived yet. But I had the chance to play extensively with the Caly 3 (Thanks Sal) during the Shot Show in Las Vegas. So from memory I have to say the following:

Ergonomics: The Al Mar Nomad and Benchmade H&K 14210 match the Caly 3.

Dip Pocket Clip: Not even the Caly 3 can match the extraordinary Al Mar Mini SERE 2000.

Fit & Finnish: Only the Blade-Tech Ganyana cannot match the Caly 3. All others are up to par.

Please share your observations. But please don’t use this as a “pissing contest.”
