The more i use my SS SE Harpy, the more i love it, this little beaut amazed me (and my co-workers) again....
you know on the Sharpmaker DVD, in the opening, Sal is doing some quick "slash-chopping" motions and cutting off slivers of paper, that's my *unofficial* test of sharpness, if i can slash cut slivers of paper, the blade is sharp....
so, i was breaking down a box to store my extra freebie "L" Phillips screwdrivers Apple sends me with every iMac G5 power supply and logic board replacement part i order, i had the Harpy in one hand, and the top of the corrugated cardboard box i had just cut off, i started thinking....
i held the cardboard out at about a 45 degree angle, so the edge of one corner was sticking in the air, and i performed a quick, slashing cut....
a small sliver of cardboard fluttered to the floor, about 1/4 inch wide, the corrugations perfectly fine, the cut edge clean, no tearing or shredding....
the Harpy had just slash-cut a sliver of.....cardboard, and done so just as easily as if it was paper, i did it a few more times just to make sure it wasn't a one-time fluke, it wasn't, it slivered the cardboard perfectly each time
remember, this is a *serrated* edge that's sliver-cutting *cardboard*.....
i showed my co-workers who were also justifiably amazed, now that's one *damn* sharp knife
