The Spyderco Kiwi

i was wondering as of now if there are any other variants of the Spyderco Kiwi other than the all stainless model and the Staghorn handscales model. Any help is appreciated

Hi xVoris,

Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

We've done a few that were made in Seki. Higher line than the Chinese models. One of our regular forumites, Deacon, is out Kiwi expert with more variations that we ever made or I've ever seen. Maybe someone can chase down Deacon's "Kiwi Wheel"?

I've wondered that too Sal. Will Paul take to the new, larger size Kiwi like he has the original? The anticipation is right up there with the rebirth of the Dodo.

Hi Paul,

I remember being involved in a thread requesting a larger Kiwi. Went for quite a few posts. Issues: Size? full flat vs hollow, straight spine vs ridge, bolster vs none. I don't remember the forum but I'm sure someone less comuter challenged than me can find it. I'm sure it will come back to you when you see the thread. Do you remember what you preferred? ;)

I have carried mine daily for years and have gifted a number of friends with kiwis.

Do any of you have a favorite place to buy Kiwis from? If so where?
New Graham Knives. Mike Dye and Annie are always a pleasure to do business with. In addition to the regular SS and Stag Kiwi SlipIt they also have some engraved SS ones they commissioned. The engraving serves a practical, as well as an esthetic, purpose in that it improves grip making the knife easier to open and close one handed. Better yet, last time I looked they still had a couple Santa Fe Stoneworks customized original (locking) Kiwis.
