I never liked any spyderco knife , But i seen a meerkat at the pawn shop . I picked it up and feel in love with the little thing . I like it so much I have decided to get a new one with the leaf blade.
I wanted to know if there is another spyderco knife you think i may like. Something like the meerkat. I cant keep this sucker outta my hands :) Oh one more thing . How many was made in the usa and how many in japan ?

I suspect you'd like a lot of them. :)

If the finger-grooved ergonomic grip on the Meerkat appeals to you there are several models you should look at first.

Navigator: This model is very similar to the Meerkat, but it looks a bit more dressy and has a conventional back lock.

Salsa: A relatively small blade (2.4") in a larger handle makes for an outstanding grip.

Lil Temperance: This may be Spyderco's ultimate contoured grip. A small blade (3") in a hand-filling handle.

Assist: Designed for emergency services personnel, this features a full-hand finger-grooved grip.

Jester: This is a keychain knife with an exceptional grip.

S.P.O.T.: My personal favorite, the SPOT has a finger-hole plus finger-grooves for an absolutely secure grip. This little fixed blade becomes a part of your hand.

Native III: This has been called the "Native 3-D". :) It takes a different approach from the others I listed, but the thick handle and subtle gripping contours make for a solid grip.

I can't tell you which models are made where, but you can be confident that they all go through the same QC checks.

Do check out the Navigator. The size and shape are almost identical to the Meerkat. You might try Smoky Mountain. Go to eknifeworks.com and type "Navigator" in the site search box at the top of the page. They have both plain and serrated for only $29.99.
