what he has think of the spyker spyderco collaboration knife. I have one in like it, I don't think the finish is quite up to its full potential. and the lockup can be very good like mine is now after send it back to the factory for retooling and but is not always.

principally do you consider it as much a Kershaw as a spyderco if you have one what do you think of the whole opening mechanism, do you notice a difference in its initial sharpness compared to other Kershaw's. how do you feel about the lack of an assisted opening mechanism.

Personally I like some of Kershaw's designs but I'm legally intimidated by and do not see the necessity for assisted opening.

A druid, I think you will see with some of our latest offerings that we have been focused on non-AO folders.

The Groove, both JYD's, and the Lahar are all manuals, but yet are are quick and fast like AO's.
The next generation flippers designed by Lee Williams (the NRG), and the Hawk's R.A.M. (both due out this year)will again be more manual folders that will assist in rounding off our selection.

Additionally, the 1993-2 Gentleman's folder in Micarta/VG-10 was another manual to hit the streets this year.

This is not to say we are turning away from SpeedSafe, on the contrary, we have a minimum of 5 new AO's from Ken O due out this year to go along with the Need's Work that is just now hitting the market.

So there is KO/AO's if you want, and Tim Galyean, Grant & Gavin Hawk, RJ Martin, and Lee Williams alternative manual designs if you don't.

I guess I could've done a little more homework, however my favorite designs the spec bump, and that high-end titanium frame lock model can't come up with the name, are both speed safe, thanks for the reply.

PS. and I'm just curious not trying to be a troll. I've heard that flicking knives open can be hard on the locking mechanism. is is true of speed safe, or is is taken into account, in the design of the knife.

none of my speed safe knives have exhibited any wear or gotten loose from being opened with the AO mechanism. note: speed safe knives should not be inertia opened, that will weaken the torsion bar.
