The Stable & what next?

So here are the small collection of knives I've acquired so far. It all started with the need for a hunting knife & a BR Bravo1 w/Desert Ironwood Burl was found. For over a year since that knife I've been looking for a bushcrafty FF to join it. Got tired of waiting and the LT Wright got bought. Around Thanksgiving I was able to score the Hiking buddy and Kephart w/Eucalyptus burl on successive Fridays. Talk about luck. What's next? I know a runt should be in the picture but I'm not sure what else.

Ideas?

A few of a trip into the redwoods high up the North Ca coast.

This one was cool because of how the flash highlighted the water droplets

Thanks for looking and I hope you're all enjoying a great Sat!

Gorgeous LTWK Genesis. Looks like it came with a cool kydex sheath. LTs bushcrafter and genesis can be found in FFG too but seems like scandi is more prevalent.

Cool pics. I'd go with a recluse and bushfinger. The recluse, kephart and bushfinger are fiddleback trifecta that everybody should own.

Welcome to the addiction.

I like your choice in leather.

I'd suggest a Nessmuk for the woods or maybe something from the Karda range for a smaller everyday utility worker.

I second the Nessmuk and also suggest the Palmer model, which is analogous to an Esee Izula.

After yesterday, I am wanting a Gaucho in tapered 5/32 O-1 with burgundy burlap very badly....

Hey thanks guys. I almost jumped on the Palmer Fri but i had no reference for size at the time. Cali knife laws are pretty dumb so I figure the runt is about the only fixed blade i can carry in a pocket sheath. Mayyybe a 2F or 3F Karda but I'm not sure I'd like the handle shape of those.

Thanks Shamrock. That was the special edition that KSF had when the Genesis was introduced. Scandi was the way to go with this one IMHO. Honestly, I think I'd rather get a dangler sheath for it as it does not lend well to car/truck travel on my belt.

I like the look of a Nessmuk but I'm really not sold on it's usefulness over my others besides food prep or chopping. On the fence there...

The KEB, Bushfinger & Hunter all have me drooling a little bit. (Oh FFS. Let's be honest, all FB's make me drool) The more rounded pommel of the KEB looks very comfortable.

PS: Andy should have some FB logo bibs made for us addicts to use on Friday's....

Yeah the Kephart is awesome. There is a nice camp knife on the flea market right now. I notice most of your knives are in the 3-4" range. Can't beat a good camp knife in the trunk if you don't want to carry a hatchet or saw.

Well .. if you're looking for more of what you have already, then look for an Arete. 4" spear point.

That Kephart is drop dead gorgeous. I feel very lucky to have scored that one Dman3d. Thanks to all who left it alone that Fri and let me take some time deciding on it. 2 thumbs up Andy! If I could find a runt with scales to match...

All your suggestions made me think. Watched a Nessmuk review from Thurin & Recluse video as well. The Nessie much more versatile than i expected. I loved how it point to belly split thin sticks. I think I "get" the Nessie now. Thanks Vayu & Bonafide for pointing it out.

I think i'm narrowing my wish list down to...
1 - Runt
2 - Nessmuk
3 - Bushfinger or Hunter

If a F2 Fish and Fowl in SS popped up I would love one of those for sure.

That Bishop is scary good looking and a monster!

Better to have a few models in mind as waiting for a specific knife in a set configuration would take some time. Andy's Nessmuks are awesome, but a Runt sounds like a good choice too that would get more use as and EDC blade.

Are you an axe guy (no, I am not referring to the fragrance!)? If no, then you need a chopper. Duke or Camp knife from FF. The Bishop has already been suggested. Maybe a machete or maybe something like an ESEE Junglas.

If you are an axe man, look at something for close work like a Patch Knife, a Bushraptor or an EDC Karda.

Camp knife and Bushfinger/Recluse. Something with a bit more belly than the Kephart would be good.

Sweet collection btw.

Nice pics. I like seeing folks support LT. Of course I have two favorites in the top pic. As to what you should try next you have got to flesh out a Nessmuk trio. You have the small knife (HB) and the full sized bushcrafter (Kephart), but you don't have the light chopper. IMO, the absolute best companion to a Nessmuk trio in Fiddleback gear is the 12" machete. Its much safer and more functional than ole Sears' tiny double bit hatchet. Once you have all 3 of those, you will have every function you need in the woods covered in a fairly lightweight package.

Great pics!

May I suggest adding a Bushboot to the wish-list? It really is a lot of knife in a small and easy to carry package.

I can attest to the effectiveness of the 12-inch machete in the chopping role in a trio. This goes back almost 5 years

My current team of Fiddlebacks in my trio are a Kephart and a 12 inch machete. Andy and crew don't make a Swiss Army Knife :)
